... the toes poke out of the sandals.Yes, summer is coming to a close, and it's not the dropping temperature that telling us; it's Calvin's increasingly prominent big toe.
When Calvin outgrows his sandals, it's time to find a good scarf and a vest ... or at least a pair of closed toe shoes!

Isn't that the truth! We ran into the same dillema with Alex. He kept telling us his sandals didn't fit and sure enough they don't:) We told him to just get through the rest of the warm days and we will find a new pair for next year:)

The above comment reminded me of John's shoe story. He was a freshman in high school wearing a size 9 shoe and they were just a couple of weeks old when he started telling me they weren't fitting. I pooh-poohed it for at least a month or two as his shoes kept being worn. Finally, I relented and took him to the shoe store and he was fitted for a size 11 1/2 shoe! Boy, did I ever feel like BAD MOM! (And his feet kept growing...now he wears a size 13!
