It's official, Calvin has been to the "happiest place on Earth", and boy did he have fun.
We made our way through the park taking in the sights and sounds as prescribed. Cal loved "It's a Small World"; he danced and bobbed the whole time. And he squealed as he soaked himself in a play land fountain. But the highlight, by far, was meeting Pooh Bear.
We let Cal run around until it was nearly his turn to meet Pooh, and then we showed him where we were. He was so excited he started to run toward Pooh, getting in a picture or two of the kids in front of us. Cal ran right over to him and gave Pooh a hug, following it with a high five and a few words of admiration. It was adorable!
Calvin had equally excitable responses to any stuffed Pooh Bears we found in stores or pictures of Pooh Bear on rides, etc. It was like being at Pooh Bear's house for the day.
Mickey who? As far as Calvin is concerned, the Magic Kingdom is Pooh's house.

Fun in the Pool
In Orlando, a day off from the theme parks means a day by the pool. And what a way to spend a day. Calvin is like a fish in the water -- he loves to swim. We managed to pull him out for a poolside lunch and a mid-day nap, but he awoke ready for more; we swam until dinner.
Eva was a little shy of the water at first, but she encouraged and teased from the edge until she could resist no longer.

Florida Vacation: Universal Studios
We now know that traveling by plane is among Calvin's many talents. At thirteen months he took his first plane trip to Florida for a family vacation. We were prepared with Benedryl and food and toys galore, and although we were glad to have all of them, he was a champ in his own right.
He not only flew without crying or causing a scene, he made friends with the lucky guy sitting in our row. Turns out that Mike works at Universal Studios, and has a sixteen month old son, Caden, so he loves little boys. Mike also has guest passes for Universal, and he gave us four of them!
It was an easy decision to pay a visit on our first day of vacation. Universal is for big kids, with fast roller coasters, but the little kids enjoyed Popeye's boat and Dr. Seuss's Landing, with play lands and carousels all decked out in Dr. Seuss's fanciful style.
We were amazed at how well the kids did at the park. Cal snoozed in his stroller when he got tired and awoke ready for more fun. Tomorrow is an "off" day, lounging by the pool. Or whatever that looks like with kids.
Have I mentioned that we're here with playmates? Kyle and Tricia Olson and their two-year old daughter, Eva, have joined us in the "happiest place on Earth" -- yay!

Lucky Number Seven
Calvin has another tooth -- his bottom left lateral incisor. (How's that, Corin?) That's the second from the center, for those of you who aren't a dental hygienist or feel like googling teeth charts.
Recap: Cal has his top four middle teeth and three on the bottom. Drooling continues.
