We now know that traveling by plane is among Calvin's many talents. At thirteen months he took his first plane trip to Florida for a family vacation. We were prepared with
Benedryl and food and toys galore, and although we were glad to have all of them, he was a champ in his own right.
He not only flew without crying or causing a scene, he made friends with the lucky guy sitting in our row. Turns out that Mike works

at Universal Studios, and has a sixteen month old son,
Caden, so he loves little boys. Mike also has guest passes for Universal, and he gave us four of them!
It was an easy decision to pay a visit on our first day of vacation. Universal is for big kids, with fast roller coasters, but the little kids enjoyed Popeye's boat and Dr. Seuss's Landing, with play lands and carousels all decked out in Dr. Seuss's fanciful style.
We were amazed at how well the kids did at the park. Cal snoozed in his stroller when he got tired and awoke ready for more fun. Tomorrow is an "off" day, lounging by the pool. Or whatever that looks like with kids.
Have I mentioned that we're here with playmates? Kyle and Tricia Olson and their two-year old daughter, Eva, have joined us in the "happiest place on Earth" -- yay!
