Calvin Elom made his first appearance at 8:45 p.m. on Wednesday, January 25, 2006 after a mere 45 hours of labor.
And even after all of that, if we hadn't watched him arrive with our own eyes, we might have thought he was someone else's child.
8 lbs. 10 oz? 22" long? A full head of dark hair? Where did this kid come from?
Nevertheless, we loved him right away. He cuddled up on me and I vowed to never let him go.
Poof! Just like that, we're parents. Now ... what does that mean, again?

What a beautiful, beautiful baby he is, too! Remember how cute Calvin was with his mouth and hands in those first few hours? As Joann said, "Dear Calvin was born either singing or preaching."
Calvin should know what a brave and wonderful job his Mommy did through the hours of her labor and delivery, too!!
